“When things get hard, I just remind myself this is life.” Laila Ali
For some odd reason, we tend to believe that hardship should not be apart of our success story. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for everyone’s success story to start with…
someone creating a goal for themselves,
create a plan without consulting with any experts,
implement the plan,
everything works out according to that plan,
and success is achieved!
…Wrong!
Parts of that is true.
Yes, everything starts in the mind. You may have an idea or a goal that you want to achieve, but you should do some research to see what needs to take place to make it attainable. You may have to ask yourself…has anyone ever accomplished this goal before? If so, what did they do? If they didn’t accomplish that goal, why not? These are key elements to expand on to fine tune your goal.
When developing your plan consult with those who know more than you. Let the experts assist you in developing your plan so that you are not just aimlessly doing what you think should work and then get disappointed when it doesn’t. Your plan should have some supportive data and wisdom to back you up.
Hardship may not be planned but should be expected!
This is the part that no one wants to hear. Hardship is not planned but should be expected. Your plan is going to reach tough times. Your plan is going to experience obstacles. Your plan is going to experience heartache and pain. Your plan may reach rough waters. You may have to go through hoops and hurdles, but that does not mean the race is over!
The race is not over.
Even though you may have an exceptional plan, you will experience some things that are not going to go according to plan and that is ok! You should expect it. Actually, when you start experiencing the obstacles know that you are on track. Tenacity is what it will take to overcome the obstacles. Perseverance will help you to remain on task which is what will give you the strength you need to succeed.
Keep your eye on the prize!
Never let go of what you want to have. Be persistent in what you want to achieve. Know that there will be challenges, but things are going to get better. See yourself in the winner’s circle before you achieve it. See your end result before you have it. If you can see it in your mind, you will see it in your reality. Continue to work hard with faith, perseverance, and you will succeed.
Be encouraged!
