In order to achieve a certain goal, people will say “I just need to focus.” When in actuality they are already focusing on something. The question becomes…what are you focusing on? The problem is we tend to focus on the wrong things.
Why is it important to be aware of what you are focusing on?
It is important to pay attention to what you are focusing on because that which you focus on is what will multiply, grow, expand, and increase in your life. It is a wonderful thing if it is something positive, such as making better health choices; getting better control of your finances; and creating fond memories with your family.
The more positive things you focus on will create more positive things in your life.
Now on the flip side…
If you focus on the negative things that are happening, you will have more of that in your life. So, if you are having car trouble and then you start thinking about how you hate your job; your lack of money; something that someone said or did to you that was disrespectful or unkind…
you can TRUST that tomorrow and the next week, you will experience more of the same!
What you focus on will multiply, grow, expand, and increase in your life.
It does not matter if it something good for you or something bad for you.
The best thing about it all is…
YOU GET TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU FOCUS ON!!!
You can choose what you focus on right now. You can change your mindset this next second. Your thoughts are your own. Of course, we all experience negative things in our lives. However, we don’t have to dwell on them. Acknowledge the circumstance. Acknowledge that it brought you pain, fear, uncertainty, unfairness, or whatever negative emotion that is making you uncomfortable, but then you must release it! (Easier said than done…Right?)
It will not be easy, but you can endure and overcome it. You can succeed!
You probably never would have chosen the negative experience for yourself because who wants to be unhappy and uncomfortable? Nobody does!
But in order to survive and not let it dictate your future, you must reposition yourself and FOCUS on something good that has come out of the negative experience. Sometimes it is easier to find than other times, but it is there!
Forgiveness and Gratitude is the doorway to peace.
In order to develop a peaceful heart and mind, it starts with forgiveness and gratitude. Forgive those who have wronged or offended you of any kind. Forgiveness is not for the person who caused the harm.
Forgiveness is for you!
Forgiveness releases the negative thoughts and emotions that you hold inside. Furthermore, it allows you to NOT focus on the negativity and NOT allow more of the negativity to manifest in your life. It does not mean you have to forget and put yourself back in harms way or allow yourself to become a victim again. It just simply mean you are releasing the negative emotion associated with it and you are moving on.
Replace unforgiveness with gratitude. Gratitude allows you to focus on all of the good things in your life that you are thankful for. For every opportunity you get think of something you are grateful for.
Speak it! Read it! Write it! Listen to it!
Get as much gratitude in your being as possible.
Start with things you take for granted, such as your breath; shelter; food; sleep; or your ability to walk. If you can’t walk, be grateful for your wheelchair. As you start to look for things to be grateful for, you will manifest even more things to be grateful for.
Let’s change what we are focusing on and create a better future!
